The idea is that if you or someone you know is a senior or immunocompromised, have mobility problems, live alone, are disabled, in self-quarantine, don’t have transportation, or any number of other reasons, you can communicate your need for help, or that you’re currently okay, by placing a sign in your window. The hope is that neighbours will be on the lookout and will reach out if you’re in need. This is not meant to replace 9-11 if you are experiencing a medical or any other type of emergency.
