Grande Prairie RCMP Special Investigative Unit charges male for child pornography offenses
Grande Prairie Special investigative Unit received information that that an individual wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for child pornography offences in Grande Prairie, Alta., was in Chilliwack attempting to leave the country.
The Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crimes Unit, General Investigations Support Team and Crime Reduction Unit were able to track down the male and execute the warrant.
Ronald Duivenvoorde (65), a resident of Grande Prairie, has been arrested and charged with accessing child pornography and three counts of failure to comply with Sex Offender Information Registration Act.
Duivenvoorde was brought before a justice of the peace and subsequently remanded into custody, to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on May 8, 2024.
Cst Michelle Jaszczyszyn from the Special Investigative Unit states “The result of this investigation has been a combined effort from a group of individuals who are dedicated to protecting children against exploitation and ensuring those who commit offences against children are brought before the justice system. We are grateful to our partner agencies in BC who assisted in our investigation and with the apprehension of the Accused.”
The investigation is still ongoing and an update is anticipated if more information becomes available
