Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit arrest St. Paul male
In the early morning hours of May 4, 2024 members of the Eastern Alberta District (EAD) Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), assisted by the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant in the rural area of the Saddle Lake Cree Nation. The warrant was part of an ongoing investigation that also included the EAD General Investigation Section, St. Paul RCMP and Saddle Lake RCMP.
As a result of this search warrant, the following items were seized:
- 300g suspected cocaine;
- 80g of suspected methamphetamine;
- Prescription medications;
- $8000 cash;
- Cash counter;
- Scales; and
- Tannerite explosives.
As a result of the investigation, Tyson Willard Hunter (51), a resident of St. Paul, Ata., was charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x3);
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
- Possess Weapon Contrary to Order (x2); and
- Fail to comply with release order (x3).
Hunter was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear on May 23, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Paul.
