Strathcona County RCMP arrest male after firearm incident at local storage yard
On July 21, 2024, the Strathcona County RCMP received a report of male discharging a firearm at a local storage yard within the City of Sherwood Park, Alta. Police learned of a confrontation between two males at the business led to the male suspect brandishing a firearm, and subsequently discharging the firearm multiple times. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
As a result of the investigation police have charged Marc McGill (53), a resident of Sherwood Park with:
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Possession of Weapon of Dangerous Purpose
- Discharged a Firearm with Intent
McGill was remanded into custody Following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on July 31, 2024.
