Mundare businessman has a contest to help businesses

A Mundare area businessman and town councillor is trying to help out local businesses in his community and surrounding.

Jason Kowal realizes some have had to reduce hours or close down temporarily and he wanted to do something to help them.

“Several of my colleagues in the mortgage industry came up with it,” he said. “I plan to recognize 19 businesses and over a nine and a half week period I’ll be giving away gift cards for people to spend at these businesses.”

Kowal said he expects there will be similar campaigns established across the country.

For the first week of the Love-19 operation, the Corner Pub and Whitetail Mechanical were nominated as the businesses.

People can nominate a business on Kowal’s Facebook site and they can enter the contest to win one of the gift certificates.”

The first week saw gift certificates of $50 for two  winners at the Corner Pub and two for oil changes at Whitetail Mechanical.
