Cops buy gas for stranded motorist

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP came to the rescue during a routine traffic stop June 10.

While patrolling in the Bruderheim area, Constable Prodanovic observed a vehicle parked at the Shell Gas station with the passenger door open and the vehicle gas cap off.

The female driver notified him she had not only run out of fuel, but was unable to pay for more fuel.

Cst. Prodanovic observed that the station was closed at the time with no card pay option on the pumps. As a result, he called a second officer, Constable DeHaan, who then purchased fuel from a Fort Saskatchewan gas station and brought it out to the stranded driver and officer in Bruderheim.
