Bruderheim’s newest councillor now Deputy Mayor
Bruderheim’s newest council member, Dan Skousbal, has been unanimously elected by his fellow councillors to fill the position of deputy mayor for the coming year during the Oct. 14 organizational meeting of council.
Skousbal was elected to council one year ago when former councillor Patrick Crawford stepped down last Aug.
The deputy mayor position is filled every year with a council member elected by fellow councillors. Last year councillor Judy Schueler was elected to the position.
During this year’s organizational meeting, councillor Pat Lee made the nomination for Skousbal.
“Councillor Dan seems very keen to learn and I think this would be an opportunity for him to see what it’s like in the trenches sometimes,” she said.
Skousbal accepted the nomination while previous deputy mayor, Judy Schueler, added her thoughts.
“I think Dan will be a good pick for this position,” she said.
