On April 3, 2025, Strathcona County RCMP received a complaint of an assault which is alleged to have occurred at Emerald Park Daycare in Sherwood Park, Alta. Strathcona County General Investigative Section (GIS) was called in to investigate, and to date, five victims between the ages of 5 and 8 years old have been identified.
The assaults occurred between March 17, 2025 and April 3, 2025. No serious injuries reported or medical attention required as a result of the incidents.
Navam Sharma (21), a resident of Edmonton, has been charged with five counts of assault.
Navam was released on conditions, and she is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on July 9, 2025.
