DECLARED: Shannon Stubbs Re-Elected in Lakeland Riding

Shannon Stubbs has been re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Lakeland in the 2025 Canadian federal election, securing another term for the Conservative Party in this eastern Alberta stronghold.

Stubbs, who has represented Lakeland since 2015, held a substantial near 80% vote share in the riding as of 9:45 p.m. MST.

In the 2025 election, Stubbs faced six challengers, including NDP candidate Jeffrey Swanson, Liberal Mark Watson, and People’s Party candidate Alain Houle. Despite the competition.

Although the count remained close, CTV, Global, CBC, Yahoo and other media outlets declared a Liberal Minority victory Monday evening with Prime Minister Mark Carney officially securing a seat in Parliament.
