The Richardson Pioneer grain terminal, west of Lamont, was the subject of a break-in during the early hours of Dec. 30 as reported by the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP. While the value of any stolen property is unknown, minor damage was reported. There was no video surveillance and very limited information on the break-in.
In addition, Bruder-heim town mayor Karl Hauch was recently the victim of a vehicle theft. During the early morning hours of Jan. 3, Hauch’s 2005 white Ford F-350 which held an older model camper on the back as well as an enclosed aluminum trailer, which housed a quad and was hitched to the rear, were stolen from his Bruderheim home.
Hauch reported the theft to police as well as Facebook where he asked friends and neighbours for help identifying the thieves through possible doorbell camera footage.
While it is unclear that anyone was able to produce footage of the crime, the Redwater RCMP did contact Hauch Jan. 4 to let him know the trailer and camper were located an hour and a half north of Redwater, but no sign of the quad or the truck.
Fort Saskatchewan RCMP are asking anyone with information on these crimes to report it to police.
