Now he has his sights set on the big show, the Calgary Stampede. It will be his first trip to “The Greatest Show On Earth,” and has the talent and determination to make it happen. With all the confidence in the world, Birks said, “My goal is to win the Stampede.”

Birks, who grew up on a 4,500 acre ranch in Australia, said he began riding calves at three years of age. He has three sisters and one brother, and Birks said they are all into rodeo as well.

He has been working in the Lamont area for several years now, and considers it a second home.

Last year Birks won the Lamont Bull-A-Rama, and his winning streak continues to impress.

With a great work ethic and notable track record in the business, there seems to be nothing to hold this 26-year-old from making his dream come true.
